I received a B.Sc. in microbiology (2007) followed by an M.Sc. in Environmental Science (2009) from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. I have also completed a PG Diploma in Geoinformatics (2017) from ISTAR, Vallabh Vidyanagar, and a Certificate Course in GIS and Remote Sensing from IIRS/ISRO.
After finishing my Masters, I worked as an Environmental Scientist with various environmental consultancy firms in Surat. I have been a GPCB approved Environmental Chemist and QCI-NABET certified Functional Area Expert (FAE) for Ecology & Biodiversity (EB), and have been part of various EIA projects and Audit preparations. During this period, I started volunteering with Nature Club Surat, a local NGO working towards environmental awareness and protection. This period instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature and inspired me to contribute to nature conservation. Finally, I resigned from my role from consultancy services in 2014 to work as an independent wildlife researcher.
Since then I am associated with VNC in their various research and conservation projects in my various capacity. Understanding the prevailing human-wildlife conflict in LRK has been my prime focus, where I am primarily trying to understand the spatiotemporal pattern of conflicts and identify conflict hotspots using remote sensing and GIS tools, to assist minimize this conflict.
