Tree Plantation Initiative

Tree Plantation Initiative

Overview

Since its inception in 1988, VNC has been dedicated to increasing the green cover of Gujarat. Our tree plantation drives go beyond just planting; we focus on 'reforestation' using indigenous species that support local wildlife and require minimal intervention. This initiative involves students, corporate partners, and volunteers in creating micro-forests.

Key Objectives

  • Plant and nurture 5,000+ indigenous saplings annually in urban and rural areas.

  • Partner with schools to create 'Green Zones' and educate children on arboriculture.

  • Monitor survival rates of saplings for a minimum of three years post-plantation.

Conservation Impact

Over 100,000 trees successfully planted and sustained since 1988, significantly improving local air quality and biodiversity.
