Our Story

Mayor Carnee Simmons is committed to solving problems for town people across the state under her leadership. He’s the City’s 45th mayor into terms on Oct 7, 2018.

Voluntary Nature Conservancy (VNC) is a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization that has been active at the grass-roots since its inception in 1988. We are one of the most versatile organizations working to nurture nature for a better future.

Our activities can be divided into three main areas:

  • Environment Education: We believe that an environmentally sensitized society is the only solution to long-term conservation. Through our environmental education programs, we provide people with the information and skills they need to make a positive impact on the environment.
  • Research & Conservation: We conduct research on human-wildlife interaction and implement conservation projects to protect endangered species and their habitats. Our projects are funded by well-respected organizations such as The Rufford Small Grants Foundation, Idea Wild, and the Bombay Natural History Society.
  • Awareness & Advocacy: We raise awareness about environmental issues through our Snakebite Mitigation Program, tree plantation program, Save the Sparrow project, Greenathon (annual marathon), Save the Vulture program, and drives to reduce pollution. We also work to address ongoing environmental issues such as illegal cutting of trees, water pollution, and waste management.

VNC is a team of dedicated volunteers who are committed to conserving the environment. We believe in being rooted in the community and clarity of work. As a result, we maintain complete transparency in all our fiscal and non-fiscal transactions to uphold the faith bestowed on us by our supporters, donors, and volunteers.

We invite you to join us in our mission to nurture nature for a better future. Together, we can make a difference.
