Back in 1988, as teenager we did not have a slightest idea that we would initiate a full time NGO that will strive to environmentally sensitize thousands of youth if not millions. Voluntary Nature Conservancy (VNC) was born in the minds of a few young zealous friends with ideas of sharing simple joy of bird watching, cycling in the midst of nature, and enjoying being in nature’s lap at the outskirts of urban habitats. It’s said passion and efforts are true friends of constructive change.
Presently, VNC formally known as ‘Vidyanagar Nature Club’ (registered as Public Charitable Trust No: E/2659/Anand, Gujarat, India) is one of the most versatile grass root NGOs working for the cause of environment. Its working areas are inclusive of community based environmental programs, wildlife conservation through research, sustainable education programs at grass root levels and schools, close to nature hobby development efforts and programs for reducing pollution, eco-friendly drives, tree plantation programs and much more. VNC stands strong in conserving the environmental treasures of Vallabh Vidyanagar and Gujarat at large. VNC stands tall due to a committed team of volunteers who are the back bone of the activities and hence it’s aptly gets its name as ‘Voluntary Nature Conservancy’. The team at VNC is dedicated to conserve environment and make sustainable efforts towards the same. The team believes in being rooted in the community and clarity of work; as a result complete transparency in the transactions (related to both fiscal and non-fiscal matters i.e. economic clarity and clarity of work) is maintained. This is also done to uphold the faith bestowed on us by our supporters, donors and volunteers.
Governing body consists of five Trustees, which is guided by five member Advisory committee.
